Sisterhood Gift Shop

We are available by appointment. Please call 416-781-3514, ext. 242.

The Gift Shop is managed and staffed by Sisterhood as a service to Beth Tzedec and the community. Our shop is small - think of us as a Judaica boutique - but we're well stocked! A great selection of tallitot and kippot, for starters, and a broad range of holiday, ritual, simcha and Israeli art goods as well. Think of your Gift Shop for special birthday gifts, hostess gifts, thank you gifts and feel good about yourself gifts too!

We at Gift Shop are proud to introduce "A Touch of Israel" - a line of custom made Tallitot created on Kibbutz Beit Haemek in Northern Israel. These beautiful, creative, Prayer Shawls can be custom designed to suit all tastes. Create a unique keepsake and memento of a special occasion - Bar/Bat Mitzvah, Aufruf, Wedding, new baby, etc. Call to book an appointment to view the Tallitot we have in stock, or to order from the extensive catalogue.

For your shopping convenience, we accept Visa and MasterCard, as well as personalized cheques and, of course, cash.

The Artists:  The creations of some remarkable artists are available at the Gift Shop.  Metalsmith Yaacov Heller has created Mezuzot from some of the Bible's most dramatic events.  Cast in pewter, then covered by electroplated gold and silver, each piece is individually oxidized.

We also carry a selection of pieces by Susan Fullenbaum, who handcrafts stained glass emphasizing Jewish themes. Each piece commemorates joyous life cycle events, illustrates Jewish customs, or is used in ceremonial life.  Stained glass adds dimentions of dynamic beauty, unparalleled in other art media, through the interplay of coloured glass with ambient light.  For over 20 years, she has created a wide selection of art ranging from attractive boxes and figurines to large window panels.  Most of her recent work has focussed on themes taken from Jewish life and her own developing awareness of Jewish tradition.

As well, we have some lovely works by Danny Azoulay.  Born in Morocco and raied in Israel, he is a prize-winning gradute of the prestigious Bezalel Art Acadmey in Jerusalem, and has exhibited his works in shows in Israel, Europe and the United States.

Register: Be sure to register your upcoming B'nai Mitzvah, weddings, confirmations and baby namings with us, and then tell friends and family about it. Special orders are welcome.

Become a Gift Shop Volunteer: It's a great place to meet and greet Synagogue members and to make new friends. As an added bonus, discounts are available to all volunteers. For information contact Rose Cooper by calling 416-781-3514, ext. 242.
