Adults

Learning never stops at Beth Tzedec. Today’s adults have a thirst for learning, for connecting with the community and being part of it.  Beth Tzedec’s programs are rich in substance. Thanks to the informed and engaging efforts of our Clergy, guest lecturers and academics from around the world, film critics, book reviewers and our own members, the thirst can be quenched. Experience the excitement of gaining a new understanding of an old text and share insights from artists and authors. From Scholars’ weekends to evening presentations, lose yourself in enlightening lectures and discussion. Come and learn. It’s all here.

Book and Film Club: Fight Night by Miriam Toews

Nov 30 2022, 1:30PM to 3:00PM in the Orenstein Mezzanine Hall.
NOTE: This event has already occurred.

Cathy Tile reviews Fight Night by Miriam Towes. The review will begin at 1:30 p.m. and is preceded by snacks.

Told in the unforgettable voice of Swiv, a nine-year-old living in Toronto with her pregnant mother who is raising Swiv while caring for her own elderly, frail, yet extraordinarily lively mother. As Swiv records her thoughts and observations, this novel unspools the pain, laughter, love and, above all, the will to live a good life across three generations of women in a close-knit family.
