UPDATE: We're having some unexpected technical issues with Zoom, so we
are unable to broadcast this program directly to Facebook. But we'll be
uploading the conversation to Facebook and YouTube as soon as it's over, so you won't miss a
moment of our conversation with Andre Ivory.
With social and political unrest across North America, many of us have been forced to reckon with issues of inequality, systemic racism and our own role in perpetuating unjust systems. Andre Ivory will be virtually returning to Beth Tzedec for a conversation with Reb Steve to discuss the intersections of race, Judaism and existing in the world as a Jew of Colour.
Andre Ivory is a dynamic Jewish educator with over 20 years of dedicated service to the Jewish community. Specializing in programming for youth, Andre has served congregations in his hometown of Los Angeles, CA, and Toronto, Ontario where he lived for seven years, where he attended York University, spent summers at Camp Ramah in Canada and served as Youth Director at Beth Tzedec Congregation from 2007 to 2011.
Since moving to Phoenix in 2011, Andre has dedicated his service to synagogues and Jewish community organizations across Arizona
Away from professional life, Andre commits time to several community causes combating hunger, poverty and homelessness. Proudly, Andre has 23 years of experience coaching ice hockey in the United States and Canada, encouraging kids to become better athletes and human beings.
