Female Rabbis—Agents of Change; Preservers of Tradition
A Community Panel Presentation
May 16 2019, 7:30PM to 9:00PM
in the Off - Site.
NOTE: This event has already occurred.
Wolfond Centre, 36 Harbord Street, Toronto
Female Rabbis generally live the paradox of being agents of change whose job is to teach an unchanging text. They are expected to preserve an ancient tradition which sometimes feels like it has not room for their own female perspective.
This panel of five path-breaking female Rabbis: Reform, Conservative, Reconstructionist, and the first Orthodox ordained woman to use the title Rabbi, plus the moderator who has forged her rabbinic path non-denominationally—will share insights, experiences and questions for people of all religions.
PANELISTS
Rabbis Elyse Goldstein, Lila Kagedin, Tina Grimberg and Jennifer Gorman.
MODERATOR
Rabbi Julia Appel. Back by popular demand after a packed presentation at the Parliament of the World's Religions in November!
