Hakafot and Torah Reading

Oct 11th 2020 11:30am

Oct 11 2020 11:30AM - 12:15PM in the Parking Lot
NOTE: This service has already occurred.

We can come together – safely, of course – as a community to celebrate the end of the Fall holiday cycle. From 11:30 AM to 12:15 PM on Sunday, October 11th, we will be holding outdoor Hakafot and Torah reading in the Beth Tzedec parking lot. We will set up tables at a safe distance from each other, each with a Sefer Torah, and each table will be assigned to a family/pod/bubble where you can use the Torah to dance around your table and share in the Hakafot being led outside by the Beth Tzedec spiritual leadership team. After 7 Hakafot, we will read from the end and then the beginning of the Torah, marking a new cycle of Torah reading and learning that we celebrate on Simhat Torah.

In order to keep everyone safe, all participants will have to be masked at all times, and children will be the sole responsibility of their accompanying adults. We have a maximum capacity of 100 people (based on current public health regulations) or 24 tables (based on space in the parking lot), whichever we reach first. All participants must pre-register by Thursday at 5:0pm; no walk-ups will be permitted.

You can register for this special opportunity through this link: https://bethtzedectoronto.shulcloud.com/form/Simhat-Torah.html. Note that this form also includes an exclusion of liability section that you will have to complete.
