Since 1992, Dorion has been responsible for restoring and caring for the Synagogue’s artifacts and artwork, arranging loans from the collection to other museums locally and internationally, and organizing and acting as tour guide for members, visitors, schools and adult groups. She has produced more than 20 original exhibitions for Beth Tzedec; “A Common Thread: A History of Toronto’s Garment Industry” was the winner of the City of Toronto Heritage Award. In 2001, she won the Laks-Wajsfus Award for World Jewish Culture at the Canadian Jewish Book Awards for “Art and Tradition; Treasures of a Jewish Life “.

An artist in her own right, Dorion has had several exhibitions as an individual and in group shows. She owned a gallery of artist-produced Judaica, and was previously the director of Arts and Crafts for the Baycrest Centre for Geriatric Care.

Dorion is a graduate of the Ontario Museum Association Museum Certificate Studies Program and of the Ontario College of Art. Originally from Coventry, England, Dorion is married to Bernie, mother of Rachel and Joanna and grandmother of her beloved Noam!
