with Aaron Fein and Yacov Fruchter

Oct 12 2024, 12:45PM to 1:30PM in the Reuben & Helene Dennis Museum.
NOTE: This event has already occurred.

Beth Tzedec spiritual leader Yacov Fruchter will be in conversation with architect and sculptor, artist Aaron Fein

In December 2021, Aaron Fein & Dahlia Lithwick's son Coby joined the IDF. He is currently stationed in Northern Israel and his brother Sopher will be enlisting in the spring. We will discuss the experience spending time in Israel since October 7, the state of Jewish unity, and Jewish texts that can help sustain us at this time.

Aaron Fein—Trained as an architect and sculptor, artist Aaron Fein began working with textiles and digital embroidery after the tragedy of 9/11. In the aftermath of those attacks, Aaron created a monumental project of 193 white-on-white national flags as a vision of a more peaceful world. While his work often centers around universal themes of geometry and nature, with light as an activating agent, Aaron has continued to return to the iconography of flags to make sense of our tumultuous times.
