Beth Tzedec want to play an important role in your Jewish Journey, with opportunities to learn and grow as a Congregation. We offer programs for learners of all ages to deepen and grow their understanding of Jewish thought and traditions. We host guest lecturers and academics who stand out in their fields, including our own members. Come and learn. It’s all here.
Join Aviva Chernick, Beth Tzedec's artist-in-residence and shliẖat tzibur (prayer leader), and Ayla Lefkowitz, spoken word artist, educator and social entrepreneur, for a four-part series exploring prayer and creativity.
What does this look like? We gather, singing simple, repeated melodies, incorporating silence and movement as we explore gratitude and praise in the morning prayers. For the second portion of the session, we are guided through an arts and crafts activity that allows us to reflect on our experience in prayer and express the prayers of our hearts.
No previous experience with Hebrew, prayers or arts practice is required for participation. Curious newcomers and experienced artists are all welcome.
