Seeking the Fabled City? The Canadian Jewish Experience in Perspective with author Allan Levine

This lecture with the PowerPoint presentation examines the key lessons, trends and patterns of 250 years of Jewish life in Canada and some of the key personalities and characters who contributed to its experience and success.


Allan Levine, an award-winning historian, author and journalist, has spent his career bringing history to life and commenting on current events in the Winnipeg Free Press and National Post, among several other publications. His books include King: William Lyon Mackenzie King: A Life Guided by the Hand of Destiny, which won the Alexander Kennedy Isbister Award for Non-Fiction, and Coming of Age: A History of the Jewish People of Manitoba, that won the McNally-Robinson Book of the Year and the Best History Book Award at the Canadian Jewish Book Awards and was the co-winner of the J.I. Segal Prize in Canadian Jewish History.
