Jews in WWII Finland: An Unlikely History with Ariel Nadbornik

Nov 07 2016, 7:30PM to 9:30PM in the Herman Hall.
NOTE: This event has already occurred.

Hear the little-known story of the Jews who served in the Finnish army, fighting alongside German soldiers against the Soviet invader. Despite an alliance with Nazi Germany against the Soviets, the Finnish army protected their Jewish compatriots from German harassment in the field and in the barracks.

Ariel Nadbornik presents personal testimonials of Finnish Jewish soldiers through selected clips from the documentary David: Stories of Honour and Shame, and continues the discussion exploring the current state of Jewish life in Finland.
