With the publication of the Complete Artscroll Siddur in 1984, Agudath Israel (Agudah) revealed its religious Weltanschauung: By embracing traditional rabbinic theology, world Jewry could withstand the onslaught of modernity. (Hechadash Asur Min Hatorah) Rabbi Moshe Meirovich will explore the religious underpinnings of the Complete Artscroll Siddur as a liturgical phenomenon that set it apart from all other contemporary prayerbooks.
Rabbi Meirovich was born in Regina, Saskatchewan and was raised in Toronto. His studies took him to Israel and the US to the Jewish Theological Seminary and Columbia University. He is both rabbi and cantor having served as Hazzan in New York, Florida and Maryland and Rabbi/H̱azzan in Cincinnati, Ohio and in Toronto at the Lodzer Synagogue. Rabbi Meirovich is also a certified Mohel. At present, he is completing a doctorate in Jewish Studies at the Spertus Institute in Chicago.
