Tikkun Leyl Shavuot Programs

Location: Beth Tzedec (1700 Bathurst Street, Toronto)

Cancellation of Anthony Housefather's Keynote Address

Unfortunately, because Beth Tzedec is located in the Toronto-St. Paul’s riding where a by-election is currently being held, Beth Tzedec was concerned that permitting Mr. Housefather to speak to the Congregation at this time might give the appearance that Beth Tzedec was not being impartial in the by-election.

Beth Tzedec has therefore decided to cancel Mr. Housefather’s keynote address at our Tikkun Leyl Shavuot programming on Tuesday night.

We thank Mr. Housefather for coming to Toronto to speak about “How We Tackle Antisemitism”. Mr. Housefather has expressed his disappointment in not being able to address the Beth Tzedec community and we hope to welcome him back in the near future.  Our sincere apologies to Mr. Housefather and to all those who registered for the program.

The evening of Shavuot is traditionally spent learning until late into the night. Join us for our Mincha and Festival Ma'ariv Services, learning opportunities and cheesecake breaks offered throughout the evening with our Spiritual Leadership.

Registration is not required.

at Beth Tzedec, beginning at 10:15 a.m.

In ancient Israel on the festival of Shavuot, Jews would gather at the Temple in Jerusalem, bringing the first fruits of their harvests in gratitude and remembrance of the day we received the Torah at Mount Sinai. We still gather at this time every year.

Please join us in marking the occasion by bringing the most precious "first fruits" of this past year--all the babies who have been born in our Beth Tzedec congregational family!

We invite you, your family and your little one to a festive Shavuot brunch. Meet and connect with other new parents and grandparents and participate in a special holiday Circle Time, followed by "Babies on the Bimah"—a Beth Tzedec baby processional, when they'll receive a blessing and special gift.

Pre-registration is requested. To register, click HERE.
