As part of the growing volunteering opportunities for teens at Beth Tzedec, we’re excited to offer a monthly hands-on volunteering experience for students in grades 9 to 12.
Volunteering isn’t just about helping others—it’s about building empathy, leadership, and a deep sense of responsibility. In Judaism, the values of chesed (acts of loving-kindness) and tzedek (justice and doing what’s right) call on us to show up for others and create a more compassionate community. This program gives teens the chance to bring those values to life through meaningful, real-world action.
Each month, teens will connect with peers, contribute to causes that matter, earn volunteer hours, and grow as engaged and thoughtful Jewish leaders.
January–March Sessions: Volunteering at Out of the Cold
In the new year, we’ll join Beth Shalom’s Out of the Cold program, a community initiative that offers warm meals, clothing, and support to people experiencing homelessness or living in vulnerable situations during the winter months.
As volunteers, you’ll be part of a hands-on effort to bring comfort and dignity to those in need. Together, we’ll learn what it really means to step up, take responsibility, and live our Jewish values by caring for others in our community.
