The Whole Megillah for 20s and 30s

A Virtual Purim Experience

Feb 25 2021, 7:30PM to 9:30PM in the Zoom..
NOTE: This event has already occurred.

The Whole Megillah is a virtual choose-your-own-adventure celebration of Purim intended to be a LGBTQ+ inclusive and 20s & 30s-centered space. Costumes encouraged!

7:30 p.m. Choose Your Megillah Experience

Join us for a creative reading of the Megillah by members of our community. Note that some chapters will be read in English and others in Hebrew, and will not be exclusively read from a scroll.

OR

Join art therapist Or Har Gil for a creative, hands-on workshop, where we'll explore the main characters of the Purim story as archetypes and reflect on how they exist within us.

Participants will be invited to create a card with an image and narrative of one archetype that they find most compelling. Will it be Vashti, the Queen who chooses sovereignty over compliance? Esther, who speaks her truth and reveals a hidden part of her identity? Maybe Haman, the part of us that craves recognition and power?

No skill or experience needed, just simple art supplies - paper, pen, markers or pencil crayons.

8:15 p.m. Purim Cabaret

Show off your costumes at a collective cabaret featuring an all-star lineup of comedy, spoken word, drag performance and music to get your body moving. Register here>>
