In 1965, the Second Vatican Council addressed the relationship between Catholics and Jews in “Declaration on the Relation of the Church to Non-Christian Religions”. Rabbi Frydman-Kohl and Dr. Norman Tobias, as part of the Canadian Rabbinic Caucus, worked with the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops on this historical document.

Register for in-person Friday evening and for Shabbat morning services. Services will be appropriately distanced, and all are required to wear a mask. Shabbat services will begin at 9:30 a.m.; check the calendar for Friday service times. 

This year's High Holy Days celebrations were profoundly different experiences for Jewish communities, limiting gatherings and our ability to daven together. You can access recordings of all our High Holy Day services, special greetings from community leaders and read or view our Rabbis' sermons from Rosh Hashanah, Kol Nidrei and Yom Kippur.

We will cross you off our list so that you will not be charged later. We are delighted we were able to provide them to members and we thank you for your returning them to us.

Fulfill the mitzvah of hearing the shofar blow on Rosh Hashanah this Sunday, September 20 at one of our seven public shofar blowings.

For many years, it has been a tradition at Beth Tzedec to invite families and individuals to ascend to the Aron Ha-Kodesh on Yom Kippur. This year, we invite you to do so in the days between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. Families or individuals may register in advance to spend up to ten minutes at the Ark in the Sanctuary.

July 22, 2021—To protect the well-being of our community, we have revised protocols. The cemetery grounds will be open Sundays through Fridays from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. All gatherings on the cemetery grounds are limited to 100 people or less. Face masks and social distancing are required at all times.
